The survey of a few weeks before proved to be profitable and, Giorgia and I, we returned to San Martino di Castrozza for a splendid long weekend on the snow! We woke up early and left the hotel on foot to reach the cable car. Rent the snowshoes, we reached the Tognola hut for our adventure. Turning our back on the hut, skirting the track that leads to Malga Tognola on the left, we started the "Path of the Marmots". The entire route was covered by a compact blanket of snow on the path and a little more floury in the "off-piste".

We sunk the snowshoes in the snow until we reached the top of Mount Tognola from which there is a breathtaking 360° view over the Pale, San Martino, up to the Marmolada. The clear and cloudless sky has given us an unforgettable path on the snow. The return of the path runs alongside the baby slope of the Tognola ski area. We had fun watching the children whizzing with their torso completely thrown back and also those poor adults who, very clumsy, try to take their first steps on skis. After the loop tour we continued with the snowshoes in the direction of Malga Tognola and here we thought of the way to start skiing!
