Punta Fiames summit

After a long time of indecision I convinced myself to do the Ferrata Strobel and, moreover, solo. Departure from Fiames just after Cortina d'Ampezzo. First part of an easy path between the woods and then on gravel: in an hour I arrived at the start of the via ferrata. Immediately demanding both as hooks and for the presence of small fireplaces and exposed pieces, even if only slightly. The heart of the Ferrata Strobel leads onto a natural terrace which has a magnificent view of Cortina! The last piece piece that leads to the vertical ladder is the most suggestive of the path with really exposed and characteristic windows.

The arrival at the top of Punta Fiames is a unique set of emotions: on the one hand the satisfaction of having finished a beautiful ferrata, on the other the magical vision of the Cortina valley surrounded by the most beautiful Dolomites! A truly exceptional 360 °! After a short pause I started the descent path, leaving the summit behind me, then to the right then towards the scree of path 202. The descent on gravel was really long and also challenging here because you could not move forward safely given the small pebbles that made you always stay in an unstable balance. After just under 5 hours I was back in the parking lot: a magical and introspective adventure!
