Maset hut

The happiness of this excursion cannot be described. It wasn't the longest, it wasn't the most adventurous, it wasn't the most demanding, it wasn't the most difficult, but it was certainly one of the most important in recent years. After a long time, in fact, I went back to the mountains (indeed, to the Mountains) with my teacher Ugo! A great emotion to see him in front of me at the age of 84, always with his rhythmic pace, a little less rhythmic, but safe and tireless.

All the way he never stopped telling me about his adventures and his anecdotes of recent years: the falls, the adventures to the Caglieron caves and back, the flight to Col Nudo, the bike rides, our considerations on politics, on family and life in general. Yes, I am writing little about the route and the mountain I experienced. The path was 991 which from Crosetta led us to the Maset refuge. For the return we took the forest that passes through Casera Cercenedo. There we made a stop, beer, other chatter on the tunnel of Sant’Augusta and the progress of the work. Beautiful snow all along the path, 30-40 centimeters, beautiful day with a sun that broke the stones for the period, but the surprise and the most beautiful memory of the excursion will always remain the day with Ugo!
