Angelini hut

Another adventure in Val di Zoldo

Even today I have chosen to reach the Val di Zoldo: he calls me, he is patient, I feel at home. Destination Angelini refuge sora l'Sass. I had tried it in 2017 in December but I had come to Casera di Mezzodì, but today I feel in shape. Path with snow, but not too much, easy to travel and pleasant even with a fast pace. I remember that I had made several stops, while this time the first stop was at the Casera di Mezzodì! From here starts a path in the woods which at a certain point leads to the left on a very steep stretch. The vaulted snow helps and sometimes turns its back, but I'm more worried about those who will make the same route the next day because they will find live ice.

The climb makes itself felt but the altimeter tells me that there are a few meters to go and it is so! The refuge area is heavenly: an enchanting window on Moiazza, Castel di Moschesin, San Sebastiano and Civetta. The snowy peaks give an even greater emotion. Majestic in front of the refuge stands the Spiz di Mezzodì which represents the "Sass" of the name. The snowy meadow surrounding the refuge must be a favorite destination in the summer. The bivouac next to the refuge is well organized and I sit there to eat. The return is on the same path and at 12:30 am I am already at the car.

Difficulty

Hikers - Itineraries on paths or evident traces in various types of terrain (pastures, debris, stony ground ...). They are generally marked with paint or cairns (pyramid-shaped stacked stones that allow you to identify the route even from a distance). They can also take place in snowy but only slightly inclined environments. They require the equipment described in the part dedicated to hiking and sufficient orientation skills, walking training for a few hours.
