Col Nudo summit

Highest peak in the Venetian Prealps

Departure at 7.30 am from Pieve d’Alpago and arrival at the top at 10.30 am. Hell blade on arrival at the top. Perhaps one of the most difficult and dangerous steps I've ever done! I don't think we would have done it if I had come with Ugo a few years ago. With a cold mind perhaps that passage, it was difficult and dangerous, if it had been done in company it would have been more affordable. The fact remains that Col Nudo is a fantastic mountain: with its 2472 meters it is the highest mountain in the Venetian Prealps. A succession of variations: from the path that starts in the woods, to the carpet of autumn leaves that covers it. At the beginning there were annoying nettles. Then the change with the path of karst rocks that form beautiful sinkholes. Attention in these places to thistles full of thorns!

Towards the top, a succession of grass cushions interspersed with rocks up to the exposed point described above. The summit gave me a breathtaking view over all the Prealps and in front, in the front line, the Dolomites of Cortina and Zoldo without a cloud! I made the return on the opposite side of the climb on a comfortable scree. If I ever wanted to bring someone well prepared on this splendid mountain, I would go there and back from this path (ABSOLUTELY). Once we found the path in the middle of the woods, it was one stop after the other to capture all the fantastic autumn colors of the trees. Fantastic photos but they never convey the idea of what you really see. Unforgettable day that filled me with pride and experience.
