Fuciade hut

Snowshoeing at the San Pellegrino pass

Mom what a cold day! They touched -20 ° with a freezing wind that cut the skin. Our first target today was the Marmolada, but since not everyone had snowshoes, we folded the Fuciade hut and the red pitchfork on the San Pellegrino Pass! From the parking lot, shortly after the pass, to the Fuciade refuge it was a pleasant walk, recommended for everyone.

From then on, however, up to the red fork - Forca Rossa -, the path became more demanding. Immediately very leaning, on steep snowy trails in which we sank. Snowshoes are indispensable to fully enjoy the experience in the presence of snow. The arrival on the fork was short but intense: spectacular panorama and at the same time a frightening and icy wind. From there also some ski mountaineers who have varied the snow cover.

Difficulty

Expert hikers - are generally signposted itineraries but with some difficulties: the terrain can consist of slippery slopes of grass, mixed rocks and grass, stony ground, slight snowy slopes or even single easy-to-climb rocky passages (use of hands in some places) . Although they are routes that do not require particular equipment, equipped sections can be presented even if they are not demanding. They require a good knowledge of the alpine environment, a safe step and the absence of vertigo. Physical preparation must be adequate for a fairly continuous day of walking.
